Shows replacement piece that was butt welded in place. Both sides were finished. You can also see where the door post is butt welded to the outer skin. This area is deliberately kept .125" lower than the door outer shape. The .125" will be filled with lead and filed with the door in placed and closed for a perfect body line between the door gap.
